hexel

A community-driven PixelWar inspired game for the Raylib Gamejam 2026.
Using Raylib and SpacetimeDB.

Draw Islands to showcase your own game.

Gameplay

Everyone starts with one random color. That's it, that's your whole palette. The only way to get more is to **merge**:

Touch cursors with another player and your brushes blend into a brand new hue. You both keep it.

Playing solo? Long-press any painted tile with your pen to get whatever's already there.

Gain XP by discovering new colors and playing longer.

The higher level you are, the more saturation you can draw with.

Paint your own island with whatever you've unlocked so far.

The whole map is one persistent world, live, all jam long.

Margins between Island are also paintable. Be careful, everyone can paint on it!

Your Island will automatically move towards the centre as it gets liked.

How to play

  • Left-drag on your island or the margin: paint
  • Double-click a foreign island: like it
  • Left-Click on a foreign island: go to the developer's game
  • Long-press a foreign island tile: unlock its color
  • Middle-click a painted tile: eyedropper (must already be unlocked)
  • Hover a foreign island: see who made it
  • Mouse wheel / pinch to zoom, drag to pan. Works on touch too (for mobile)

Full controls are one Escape-press away in-game.

Also playable at

Same live world either way, so it doesn't matter which entry point you (or your friends) use.
